My Story

Freshwalks is taking part in the NSPCC's Walk for Children event on the longest night of the year (21 Dec), raising money to help protect children from abuse. For children facing abuse, every night feels like the longest.

On Friday 17 December, just a few days before the official fundraising day, our community will walk from Sunrise to Sunset for children that have nowhere else to turn. Our 23km route through the Hope valley will include 1200m worth of rugged uphill walking incorporating many iconic peaks such as Mam Tor (sunrise) and Stanage Edge (sunset).

Help us reach our fundraising target by signing up for our walk and asking friends, family and work colleagues to help bring hope to children.

How your donation could help:
- £4 could pay for a trained volunteer counsellor to answer a child's call for help to Childline.
- £27 could pay for a Childline supervisor for one hour, supporting volunteer counsellors.
- £40 could pay for Childline volunteer counsellors to answer 10 calls from children.
